With board certifications, Super Lawyers recognition, AV Preeminent ratings, and former public servants among our ranks, our team has the expertise to handle Florida's most complex civil cases.
Managing Partner & Founder
Dale Swope founded the firm in 1979 as a solo practitioner just six months out of law school. A Tampa native, he attended Hillsborough High School, the University of South Florida, and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Over 45 years, he has built the firm into one of Florida's most respected plaintiff's trial firms.
He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Civil Trial Law — a distinction held by fewer than 2% of Florida attorneys — and is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Law Institute, two of the most prestigious organizations in the legal profession.
Dale has been a passionate advocate for the rights of injured people throughout his career. He served as President of the Florida Justice Association (2017–2018) and has been instrumental in shaping Florida's insurance bad faith law. He has been named a Florida Super Lawyer every year since 2009.
Managing Partner
Angela Rodante first joined the firm in 1985 as a clerk and runner — and never left. She earned her B.A. from the University of South Florida (1989) and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law (1996), and became Managing Partner in 2003, at which time the firm was renamed Swope, Rodante P.A.
She is one of Florida's leading insurance bad faith attorneys, representing clients against insurers who have acted in bad faith. Angela is a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel — an invitation-only organization limited to the top insurance coverage attorneys in the country — and is licensed in all Florida state and federal courts and the Eleventh Circuit.
Angela has been recognized as Tampa's Lawyer of the Year in Litigation – Insurance on multiple occasions by Best Lawyers in America, including 2026. She served as President of the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association in 2006.
Partner
Brent Steinberg is a partner at Swope, Rodante P.A. and one of Florida's leading appellate attorneys. He handles trial work at the firm as well as appeals in Florida state courts and federal courts throughout the Eleventh Circuit.
Brent's board certification in appellate practice — held by fewer than 200 of Florida's 100,000+ licensed attorneys — reflects his extraordinary mastery of appellate law. His work has produced landmark decisions that have shaped Florida personal injury law.
Partner
Daniel Greene is a partner at Swope, Rodante P.A. with experience across the firm's core practice areas of catastrophic personal injury and insurance bad faith. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and has earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell — the highest possible peer-review rating.
Partner
Anna Frederiksen-Cherry is a partner at Swope, Rodante P.A. She has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Florida and is a member of the Nation's Top One Percent, a prestigious group of attorneys recognized for superior qualifications and credentials.
Partner
Fentrice Driskell is a partner at Swope, Rodante P.A. She brings exceptional academic credentials — a Harvard undergraduate degree and a Georgetown Law J.D. — and real-world experience that includes a federal judicial clerkship in the Middle District of Florida.
Fentrice has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer continuously since 2011, first as a Rising Star and then as a Super Lawyer since 2020. She is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and serves on The Florida Bar's Standing Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.
Partner
Taylor McKnight is a partner at Swope, Rodante P.A., focusing on complex catastrophic injury and insurance bad faith litigation. As a partner at one of Florida's most recognized plaintiff's trial firms, Taylor brings the same standard of excellence in advocacy that the firm is known for.
Attorney
Brenna Spinner is an attorney at Swope, Rodante P.A. with a broad practice spanning trial advocacy, personal injury litigation, appellate practice, and insurance bad faith. Her combined trial and appellate experience makes her a versatile and effective advocate for clients at every stage of a case.
Attorney
Elizabeth Ann Zwibel is an attorney at Swope, Rodante P.A. specializing in medical malpractice and products liability. She has achieved extraordinary results for her clients, including co-counseling the largest mild traumatic brain injury verdict in U.S. history, and has had two separate jury trials ranked among the Top 100 jury verdicts in the entire United States.
Attorney
Sean Shaw brings a uniquely powerful public service background to civil litigation. He served as Florida's Insurance Consumer Advocate — appointed in 2008 by CFO Alex Sink — overseeing 15 state employees who protected Florida families and businesses on insurance matters. He also served as a Florida State Representative and was the first African-American to be the Democratic nominee for Florida Attorney General.
His deep knowledge of Florida insurance law and public policy, combined with hands-on litigation experience, makes him a formidable advocate for clients whose insurance companies have acted in bad faith.
Of Counsel
Arthenia Joyner is of counsel to Swope, Rodante P.A. She served in the Florida legislature for nearly two decades, including as President Pro Tempore of the Florida Senate — one of the most powerful positions in Florida government.
