Our History
Dale Swope founded the firm as a solo practice in Tampa, Florida, with a focus on personal injury litigation.
Angela Rodante became managing partner, and the firm was renamed Swope, Rodante P.A., reflecting the partnership that continues today.
Named to the inaugural U.S. News & World Report "Best Law Firms" list — a recognition the firm has received every year since.
Secured a landmark $30.1 million verdict in Willoughby v. GEICO — one of the largest insurance bad faith verdicts in Florida history.

Our Historic Home
Swope, Rodante P.A. is housed in one of Tampa's most historic and iconic landmarks: the former Florida Brewery Building in the heart of Ybor City.
Built in 1896 by Vicente Martinez-Ybor for the Florida Brewing Company — producers of the famed La Tropical beer — the building operated as a brewery until 1961. After closing, it served various purposes over the decades, including as a Cold War bomb shelter, before falling into disrepair. The tower and roof eventually collapsed.
In 1999, Dale Swope and Joseph Kokolakis purchased the building and undertook a complete, historically faithful restoration — including rebuilding the magnificent tower. Swope Law moved into the restored building in 2001, breathing new life into a Tampa landmark.
The restoration has been recognized by AIA Tampa Bay, and the building remains one of the most distinctive and celebrated historic structures in Ybor City.

Monthly Student Athlete Recognition Program
Each month, Swope, Rodante P.A. selects an outstanding student athlete from the Tampa Bay area. The winner is honored for their achievements in academics and athletics, and their school's athletic department receives a $1,000 donation.
